Head's Blog: Pre-Prep to Year 8

Head's Blog

These are very exciting times for Moulsford and following December’s announcement, we are really looking forward to welcoming girls to all classes in the Pre-Prep. It has been great to host girls at Moulsford recently for taster days, and we are now delighted to share with parents the Moulsford girls’ uniform for Reception to Year 2.

The uniform has been designed to ensure girls feel special, with the new beret, pinafore and cardigan being unique to them. The Moulsford shirt and blazer remain ‘unisex’ so that they are interchangeable for both boys and girls. We had great fun with the children modelling the two uniforms for the photoshoot recently, and please click here for further photos.  A reminder that the Prep School (Years 3 – 8) remains all boys and there are no plans to change this.

At the other end of the school, it has been a very busy few months for all the Year 8s, who have been preparing for their senior school entrance exams. Some of these boys have also been taking various scholarships, which involves specific preparation over a number of terms and years, and, while it’s a cliché, the journey is undoubtedly more important than the outcome. Many congratulations to all boys who have put themselves forward for the scholarship process. They will have learnt so much and developed in many different ways as a result. Year 8 boys have recently gained the following awards:

  • Abingdon
    • Academic Scholarship – Henry B
    • DT Scholarship – Tom D
    • Art Scholarship – Sebby M
  • Harrow - Sports Scholarship – Barney W
  • Oratory - Academic Scholarship – Freddie A
  • Pangbourne
    • Academic Exhibition – Steven T
    • Sports Scholarship – Edward ON
  • Reading Blue Coat - Music Scholarship – Sam A
  • Winchester - Sports Scholarship – James H
