New records and glorious sunshine

Last Friday, under glorious sunny skies, Moulsford hosted its annual Inter-House Triathlon – a much-loved event that brings together fitness, fun, and a fantastic community spirit. With 254 pupils taking part, the afternoon was full of energy, encouragement, and impressive performances.

The event began with the rowing leg, set against the picturesque backdrop of the River Thames. Parents cheered enthusiastically from the Sports Hall balcony, creating a brilliant atmosphere as pupils gave their all on the rowing machines.

From there, it was into the pool for the swimming leg, where upbeat 90s dance tracks provided the perfect soundtrack for freestyle efforts. As the year groups progressed, so did the number of lengths, with each pupil rising to the challenge and enjoying the party-like atmosphere poolside.

The final leg took place on the front field – the running course – where the Moulsford Running Playlist had everyone moving, with pupils and parents dancing and singing as the afternoon went on. Every runner was cheered across the finish line, and the energy never dipped as 254 pupils completed the course.

A highlight of the day was the setting of four new records:

  • Jack D (Year 3)5:46.64

  • Obi M (Year 4)5:30.42

  • Benny H-S (Year 7)5:59.25

  • Freddie L (Year 8)5:36.20

Congratulations to all four for their outstanding achievements!

The Triathlon was a truly wonderful event and a great showcase of Moulsford spirit. A huge thank you must go to all Moulsford staff – from teaching to grounds and catering – whose hard work made the afternoon such a success.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the parents for their incredible support and encouragement throughout the event, and of course to the pupils for their energy, effort, and enthusiasm. Well done, everyone!
