Competing at the London Aquatic Centre
Eight of our talented Year 7 and 8 boys represented Moulsford last weekend at the prestigious IAPS Swimming Nationals, held at the iconic London Aquatic Centre. After a strong qualifying performance at The Dragon back in February, the boys earned their place among the best young swimmers in the country – and they certainly rose to the occasion.
The afternoon began with our Under 13 boys – Max L, Seb Y, Tom H and Freddie L – competing in the U13 4x25m Medley Relay. The team delivered a determined performance, finishing 13th overall in a time of 1:06.09.
Next up were our Under 12s in the 4x25m Freestyle Relay. Austin T, Tim L, Benny H-S and Theo W swam with great spirit and teamwork, placing 15th nationally in a time of 1:02.26. The U13 boys returned to the pool for the 4x25m Freestyle Relay, where they showed excellent pace and composure to secure 16th place in a time of 59:13.
As the session moved into the individual events, Seb Y competed in the Butterfly and achieved a commendable 18th-place finish with a time of 34.41. Benny H-S then matched his qualifying position, finishing 15th in the Breaststroke in 43.56.
A highlight of the afternoon came from Freddie L, who swam brilliantly in his Breaststroke heat to finish 8th in 36.28 and qualify for the final. There, he stepped up once again to claim an impressive 9th place nationally with a time of 36.72.
Mr Dunsby and I were incredibly proud of every one of our boys, not just for their performances in the pool, but also for the way they represented Moulsford throughout the event. With fantastic support from travelling families, it was a proud day for the school – one we hope to replicate and build on next year.
