Curiosity, conkers and colds!

This week has been a busy one for us in the Pre-Prep, as we are all beginning to get used to our classes and the exciting new timetable. There have been lots of firsts — from Reception venturing out to Ipsden for their Forest School adventures, to new starters in the Bobcats who have settled in beautifully — and many other first-time experiences that have been fully embraced by everyone throughout Pre-Prep.

I have absolutely LOVED visiting each of the classrooms every morning and marvelling at the reading, writing, Maths, and other creative activities taking place. I am consistently impressed by the children's enthusiasm and motivation to learn.

Thank you to all those who have been bringing in conkers for the tray in the hall. You can never have too many conkers! The best collecting spots have been a hotly contested secret during drop-off this week. Keep bringing them in — not only are they a lovely reminder that the seasons are changing, but they’re also fantastic for counting, shape sorting, and even decorating with glitter and pens (who knew!).

On Thursday, we had our first fire practice and, as expected, the children left the building calmly and quietly. It’s amazing how quickly they have taken on board the idea of looking after one another and learning to play together during playtime.

Today, we awarded our very first Pride of Moulsford award to a child in the Pre-Prep who has shown exceptional kindness, effort, and a positive attitude. Formerly known as the Kindness, Courage and Curiosity award, this special recognition celebrates those who consistently embody the core values of Moulsford and will be given out every Friday during our Celebration assembly. Children are awarded a badge which they can wear on their blazers throughout their time in the Pre-Prep.

Many congratulations to Imogen M in Pumas who was awarded the very first Pride of Moulsford award for this academic year.

To each and every member of the Pre-Prep — you are brilliant, clever, and setting an excellent example to us all (despite the tiredness and colds creeping in!).  Well done and see you all next week.
