Under 13s rowing at St Edwards, Oxford

Moulsford participated in an Under 13 indoor rowing competition last week, showcasing exceptional technique and determination. The event featured seven schools, with Moulsford securing an impressive 2nd place overall. Led by Captain Will G, who clinched 1st place individually with a remarkable time of 1 minute and 43 seconds, Moulsford demonstrated outstanding prowess in both individual races and the team relay event.

We entered 12 boys into the competition, each displaying commendable skill and dedication. The event comprised individual races followed by a challenging team relay event, where teams were tasked with rowing 2112 meters collectively.

Transitioning seamlessly from individual races to the team relay event, the boys maintained their momentum. With exceptional coordination and skilful changeovers, the team displayed a formidable presence on the indoor rowing platform. Their exemplary teamwork and synchronised efforts propelled them to victory in their heat, narrowly edging out competitors. Despite Moulsford's commendable performance, Broomwood Prep emerged as the overall winners, clinching 1st place by a margin of 15 seconds.

Special thanks to Mr. Martin and Mr. Chaffey for their guidance and support in preparing the boys for the competition. Moulsford Prep's impressive 2nd place finish, coupled with Captain Will's individual triumph, highlights the school's commitment to excellence in sport. The experience gained from this competition will undoubtedly serve as motivation for future endeavours in rowing and beyond.
