Navigating London

Following completion of the scholarship exams, Mr Martin and Mr Weeks took 8W on a trip to London this week with the aim of seeing some sights but also educating them about how to use the underground in order to navigate the city.

After arriving in Paddington, we made our way to Piccadilly Circus for the first stop on our tour. The boys enjoyed going past some landmarks such as Chinatown, Leicester Square and the Lego Store!

St Paul's Cathedral is an impressive site and the boys enjoyed marvelling at its construction before tucking into some food. Being so close to the river, we decided to walk across the Millennium Bridge and admire the financial district, the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre before heading to Blackfriars Station.

Our third major stop of the day was Westminster. Some photo stops here included Downing Street and Big Ben before we made our way to St John's Wood.

St John's Wood saw the most exciting stop of the day for the boys as Mr Beardmore-Gray had kindly arranged for us to visit Lords. We were privileged to visit both dressing rooms, the media centre and also the Long Room before making our way back to Paddington.
